In the past, I had to choose carefully the books I would read because it used to take me ages to read one book. Reading was
a daunting task as any choice mistake would consume a substantial amount of time. In March 2016, I started
a reading journey, starting from "How to Win Friends and Influence People". Since then, I have been reading
about thirty minutes every day and am enjoying every books.
You might be thinking why did I start this reading journey?
The reason is that reading books opens roads of thoughts that I would not have taken by myself. It gives me access to point of view from people whom I will probably never meet face to face. Very skilled people who shared their point of view. I don't agree with all the things said in the books but it doesn't matter. I use the information to construct my own vision, my own ideas. Reading on subjects ranging from career success, marketing, finance management, self improvement and time management, I wouldn't have been able to develop the amount of thoughts that I have now without reading.
A second important aspect is that reading everyday allows me to have a much higher margin of error in regards to book choices. There are very good books and very lousy books but I think most of them are in the middle. They have good parts and repetitive parts. In situation like that, quantity is better than quality because I can't tell by looking at a description whether books have good content therefore I process a lot of them and extract the essential knowledge.
Thanks for checking out my recommendations and have a wonderful day!
2017 was a successful year. I continued my reading journey and read 19 books. My reading list expanded to different domains which I never thought I would be interested in like negotiation, sales and business strategy.
2016 was a successful year. I went from reading 0 books to 19 books. It also was a difficult year and this reflects in the following list. I worked a lot on self improvement but also on money management and time management.
